Brug Stroobos weer vrijgegeven na berging door DTS

Towards the night of December 20 to 21, our emergency number was called by Rijkswaterstaat, asking if we could urgently send a diving team to Friesland. A German inland vessel had collided with a bridge over the Princess Margriet Canal near Stroobos.

The ship’s wheelhouse was severely damaged. Fortunately, no one was injured, but in addition to the ship, the bridge was also damaged, which meant that all traffic – both in the canal and on the road – had to be halted. Therefore the salvage had to be carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Our divers spent all night recovering a ship’s deck hatch system that lay at the bottom of the bridge passage. The waterway was reopened to traffic in the morning.
